Talea

Jijide Talea is a perfume devoted to the white chrysanthemum and to everything people have read into it. In China the flower stands for strength and resilience, and in Japan for the imperial family. In Europe it blooms in autumn, when families visit the graves of their dead, so it came to mean mourning. Talea starts from that prejudice. Jijide launched it in 2026 as part of the Conversations collection, where a young Western perspective talks with a perfumer from the East. The concept came from students at the Italian Perfumery Institute. They saw in the chrysanthemum anyone people judge before knowing them. From there they moved on to social expectations and the wish to decide for yourself who you are. What came out of it was the idea of rebirth, a way out of the golden cage of convention. The name says the same. In Italian, talea means a cutting, a piece of a plant that takes root in fresh soil or water and grows again. The fragrance itself is floral and warm, with a green glint that recalls the dark green chrysanthemum absolute. Like a cutting in new ground, the flower gets a second chance here.
