About the fragrance

Sasva Gourmand Bazaar Barfi Vanille is named after barfi, an Indian sweet made from milk and sugar. The milk is cooked slowly until it thickens, sugar goes in, and the set mixture is cut into small squares. The squares are soft and dense and melt in the mouth like snow. The sweet is even named after it, since barf means snow in Persian. Barfi belongs to mithai, the traditional Indian sweets that people bring when visiting and share at festivals such as Diwali. The perfume starts from the air inside an Indian sweet shop, warm with sugar that is just beginning to caramelise. It is sweet and creamy, and the pistachio at its heart recalls the green crumbs often scattered over barfi. The brand sees it as the playful, mischievous side of the collection, with Chai Tabac as the deeper, warmer one. Gourmand Bazaar in the name leads to India’s markets, among stalls of tea and mithai, where sweets are eaten slowly and with pleasure. Few people stop at one piece of barfi.
