Perfumer
Maud Chevalier is a French perfumer at Sozio, where she works in the company’s fine fragrance centre in Seillans, in the south of France. For Neydo she made Watermere 05.07, a perfume about a dream under water.
At 22 she was studying chemistry in Paris when Firmenich took her on as an intern for a few months. After that she wanted to be a perfumer, and she got into ISIPCA. While studying she trained at Robertet in Paris. After graduating she spent four years in Grasse on the technical analysis of scents, and in 2018 she joined Sozio. She has also made several perfumes for the house Nojoum.
She calls herself a dreamer who likes to make up a story and build a scent around it. Travel inspires her most, and on every trip she smells everything she can. She likes to push one or two ingredients to the front and gently surround them with the rest. Her favourite flower from the south of France is tuberose, and lately she has been drawn to warm amber and resin notes, as well as green freshness. Watermere 05.07 contains tea, rose and violet.
