Cape Heartache

Imaginary Authors Cape Heartache – the only American contribution to Philip Sava’s extraordinarily popular series of exploration novels. Loosely based on the expedition Sava undertook as a teenager in 1881 in the Pacific Northwest, it is generally considered his most sincere and clearest work. The novel revolves around the estate he built in the coastal forest of old-growth trees, and also tells of his romance with a young woman descendant of the Nehalem tribe. Thematically it covers leaving the known and finding comfort and peace in a new place, a message that still resonates today.
